New World Vs Old World
The difference Between Old World and New World Wines are pretty straight forward and that is location. Of course, there is a distinctive difference in the style of wine due to its geographical differences.
"Old World" refers to wines grown in European countries with a long history of wine growing. The most notable Old World wines would be from France, Italy, Spain, Germany, and Portugal.
"New World" on the other hand includes all other area. The most popular would be The United States, Australia, Chile, Argentina, New Zealand and South Africa.
Due to the warmer climates in nature, New World countries generally produces wines of higher alcohol and more fruit forward. Old Wines wines however tend to be lower in alcohol and more earthy in character.
