If you spot the VDP Eagle on the bottle, you can be guaranteed that it is wine of the highest quality from some of the finest wine estates of Germany. The Verband deutscher Prädikatsweingüter (the Association of German Prädikat Wine Estates, abbreviated VDP), is an elite group of some 200 quality-oriented German vintners who are committed to terroir-driven viticulture at the highest level. The winemakers adheres to strict wine making rules and oppose anything that makes wine nondescript and artificial.
