Asti Spumante vs Moscato d'Asti
Produced in Piedmont of Italy, Asti Spumante is the complete sparkling version of Moscato. Asti Spumante (more commonly called Asti) is the Muscat Blanc grape’s answer to champagne.
Whereas Moscato d’Asti, also made from the Muscat Blanc grape, is slightly sparkling (also known as “frizzante”).
While both enhance the aromatic character of Moscato, Asti Spumante is less sweet than Moscato d'Asti, since the post-fermentation sugar residue is lower.
Both are the ideal accompaniment to pastries or as desserts on its own.
